Different citation techniques are used in different scenarios. American Psychological Association (APA) is an academic formatting style. This is a format that provides assistance for submission of different papers mainly for social and behavioral sciences. It helps the professionals in the academic writings.
Another technique used for the liberal arts and humanities is called Modern Language Association (MLA). It provides guidelines for formatting manuscripts and producing English language. Chicago Manual of Style, also known as editor’s bible covers and assists sentence structures, conventions and documentation. It is identical to another style, Author-date system. This manual is primarily based on a style called “Turabian” citation style which follows the two CMS documentation patterns.
American Chemical Style (ACS) trademarks practicality. It focuses on team-based production of information by recording names of all the authors in the bibliography. It allows citation off the authors with the initials that is a practice ACS has introduced. Also it gives room to abbreviate the Journal titles that are longer than one word.
American Sociological Assistance (ASA) is a widely accepted formatting style appreciated for the sociology research papers. It is designed to aid the authors to formulate ASA publications and journals. It emphasis that all the references are included in the references section at the end of the journal rather than as cited in MLA style.
